Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. In her early years she was enrolled in the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma decided to be an actor when she was six. Over the course of several years she was enrolled in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing dance, acting and singing. Through a school play as well as an Stagecoach production, Emma was her role as lead actress at 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was found by agents through her Oxford teacher.
